In The Beginning... |
|
In early 2006, Conor Mcloughlin and Elliot Careswell,
two childhood mates were both pursuing their music
careers at Leederville Central Tafe. They jammed
together all the time, playing tunes from
Dave Matthews
Band and
David Gray until one day they decided to form
a band under the influence of Conor Mcloughlin s funky,
mellow acoustic guitar playing. They were given an
assignment to write a few songs and perform them in
front of the whole music department. This was the birth
of The Milkmen . Since then they have been writing
music and started working towards getting a full band
together. They have been playing gigs around Fremantle
and Northbridge and supported Perth band End
Of Fashion as part of the Australia Day
Celebration at Langley Park Foreshore in 2008. The
Milkmen have also had one of their songs played on
96fm s 6 o clock rock report and were interviewed by
Gavin Miller. The Milkmen currently have 56 Original
songs. Their main musical influences consist of
Dave Matthews
Band,
Glen Hansard (The Frames and Swell Season),
Jason Mraz,
David Gray,
Kings Of Leon,
Oasis. Lately The Milkmen have been spreading
their music far and wide with performances all over the
Perth metro area. The launch of the debut EP 'Always
Deliver' will see The Milkmen spread their music as far
away as Settlers Tavern in Margaret River. So check the
gig guide and make sure you get along to hear The
Milkmen's new tunes. |
